THE INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL SEMINAR ON WOOD, PULP AND BIOREFINERY OF THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF VIÇOSA IS SUCCESSFULLY CLOSED
The Pulp and Paper Laboratory of the Federal University of Viçosa held the first edition of the International Virtual Seminar on Wood, Pulp and Biorefinery – IVSWPB 2020, between September 8th and 15th. Organized by Iara Demuner, Ana Marcia Carvalho, Felipe Pedersoli and Marcela Coura, the event was completely online, free, certified and fully taught in English. With more than 500 registrants, the seminar was very successful.
People from 26 different countries (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, El Salvador, Finland, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Paraguay, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States and Uruguay) registered in the seminar, which means that all the continents of the globe were represented in the IVSWPB2020. A great number of 17% registrants are from outside Brazil.
The event was attended by the speakers Thomas Rosenau, Orlando Rojas, Mikhail Balakshin, Juliana Jardim, Bruno Gonçalves and Clarite Azerraf, who are world references in research and technology in the pulp sector. The lectures remain available on the LCP channel on Youtube = https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9QHUsj-bo2UDa9cGE0SIxg – and can be watched asynchronously for those who were unable to follow the event live until the end of this month.
The IVSWPB Organizing Committee thanks all the public who attended the event and the speakers who kindly responded to our request. See you at the next seminar and stay safe!
